The Experienced Autobody Technician performs skilled work in the repair and restoration of damaged vehicles to pre-accident condition. Responsibilities include assessing damage, removing and replacing panels, welding, straightening frames, sanding, priming, and refinishing surfaces using precision tools and equipment. The technician ensures all repairs meet industry and safety standards, maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Additional duties include estimating repair times, maintaining accurate work records, and collaborating with service advisors and painters to ensure timely completion. The ideal candidate possesses strong diagnostic skills, proficiency with modern autobody repair systems, and familiarity with computerized frame and paint-matching technologies. Excellent problem-solving abilities, mechanical aptitude, and commitment to quality workmanship are essential. Certification in I-CAR, ASE, or equivalent is preferred.
