What You'll Do
As a Sensor Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the engineers and scientists who are developing the next generation of Lake Shore sensors. Work may include microfabrication tasks in our cleanroom, design tasks to aid in packaging, assembly and metrology, and work with electronic components and instrumentation to aid in test and measurement. You'll gain hands-on experience in:

• Learning technologies or processes related to packaging design, assembly, metrology, electronic components, and/or test and measurement instrumentation.
• Applying your learning to complete experiments, measurements, or assemblies with minimal supervision.
• Reporting the results of your work to the larger team.

What We're Looking For.

• Working toward an undergraduate bachelor's degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline (Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, etc.).
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Coursework or experience with PID loop tuning, microcontroller setup to control hardware, Python coding for hardware, motor function, and magneteostatics.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling.
• Ability to preserve the confidentiality of information.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
