Company Overview
Plymouth Engineered Shapes, a unit of Plymouth Tube Company. Plymouth Tube Company is engaged in the manufacture of a wide variety of extruded shapes, solid and hollow, hollow bar, welded and seamless cold drawn tubular products. The Hopkinsville mill was started in 1977 and has enjoyed continued growth through the years.
Company History
Plymouth Tube Company is a leading manufacturer of specialty metal tubing and extruded metal shapes. Founded in 1924 by Herbert B. Van Pelt and his sons Donald C. and Richard S. Van Pelt, the Company continues today as a family owned and operated firm. Originally established as a captive source of tubing for a steel service center company, the manufacturing operations were split from the distribution business in 1974 and called Plymouth Tube Company. Our first mill was a modest 15,000 square foot wooden framed building in Plymouth, Michigan. Since then Plymouth Tube Company has grown rapidly through internal additions as well as acquisitions. Today Plymouth Tube Company has eight manufacturing facilities in the United States at seven locations. Winamac Indiana has 2 mills. The majority of our products are sold in their respective domestic markets, although it is our goal to increase our export sales.
The Company's corporate office is located in Warrenville, Illinois and consists of senior management, finance, engineering, human resources and some sales for the business groups. The eight U.S. manufacturing sites are divided into two business units – White Metals and CAT Group (Carbon Alloy Tubing). A Group Vice President runs each business unit. In addition, the Company operates an equipment fabricating and rebuilding facility as part of our engineering department.

BENEFITS
Plymouth Tube Company and Plymouth Engineered Shapes provide a wide range of benefits in addition to direct wage compensation. Listed below are some of these benefits, which may be explained under separate cover in this handbook or in the tab section of the blue “Policy and Benefits” handbook.
Incentive Pay: See page 22 of this handbook.
401-K: A pre-tax savings program available 60-calendar days after employment. 60 days after the Team Member’s 60th day of employment (120 days from date of hire) a 3% deduction of the Team Member’s gross wages will automatically start unless Team Member contacts Putnam, 401k provider, and declines the benefit. A Team Member may save up to 2% - 100% of his/her gross salary. The first 3% is matched 100% by the company. The next 2% is matched 50% by the company. Medical and Dental Coverage:
This coverage is provided for all Team Members and their families’ 60-calendar days after employment. See details under the medical and dental tabs in this handbook.

Safety Shoes: Plymouth Engineered Shapes will make a contribution toward the cost of protective metatarsal shoes. Replacement of protective shoes will be on the basis of fair wear and tear as determined by the Team Member and the Human Resource Department. The stipend that Plymouth Engineered Shapes will pay for safety shoes is $95.
Prescription Safety Glasses:
Plymouth Engineered Shapes will make a contribution towards examination, lenses, frames and fitting at a licensed optometrist, specifically to obtain safety glasses. Normal replacement will be on an as needed basis. The stipend that Plymouth Engineered Shapes will pay for safety glasses is $150.

Plymouth Engineered Shapes will provide safety glasses.
