Company Profile

American Aerospace Controls

Company Overview

Military Applications:

AAC meets the demands of DOD applications by strict product and factory adherence to Military standards and specifications. Detail procedures provide assurance that all units are reliably encapsulated and hermetically sealed with component traceability when required.
Often minor changes in mission requirements, need for a second more reliable source, or changes in vendors will necessitate the need to duplicate the essential elements of a previous design. AAC, with it's experience and multiple technology approach, has the capability to provide these services. Equally important, the company can meet short delivery schedule needs normally associated with this type of requirement. Illustrative of the point, AAC is proud of the design and manufacture of transducers aboard the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. It is a matter of history that this weapon system and AAC products performed admirably under the harsh environmental conditions of Desert Storm.

Rail Transit Applications:

AAC DC current and voltage products are aboard mass transit and heavy transport rail systems.

High accuracy applications, such as current transducers to monitor traction motor forward and reverse regenerative brake current.

High sensitivity DC current detectors, with built-in relay and field adjustable trip point control, sense ground fault problems anywhere in the system.

DC voltage detectors monitor third rail power applied to individual cars. The output relay responds when the voltage exceeds the field adjustable trip point setting.

Clamp on, split yoke dc current transducers provide an analog output signal(4 to 20mA) directly proportional to the isolated input current. These units monitor critical fan and blower motor currents in locomotives.

Industrial Applications:

AAC products are suited for long term unattended use in industrial measurement and control applications.

Current, voltage and power transducers monitor loads associated with motors, heaters, lighting equipment, power supplies, process control and energy management systems.

Relay, solid state switch and analog outputs are isolated and compatible with digital voltmeters, recorders, data loggers, transmitters, V/F converters, programmable logic controllers and computers.

Company History

In 1965 Robert M. Gitlin established AAC, created the company's products, and set the high standards that still guide the firm today. From the beginning the focus was on electrical system measurement and control solutions.

Early products designed for application specific requirements established a reputation for compact rugged designs featuring low power and weight. Experience gained help develop new technologies and evolved the company's "Customer Focused" strategy. Today the company provides AC & DC current, voltage, power & frequency transducers for industrial, laboratory, rail transit, defense and space applications.
